You can open either prelim2001.doc or thesis2001.doc as a Word file. Copy the umass2001.dot file into the TEMPLATES folder under the Microsoft Office folder on your Mac. You can then select umass2001 as your template for a new file when you create the file; or, with an existing file, you can select umass2001 as the template by going under the TOOLS menu and selecting Templates and Add-Ins; then Attach umass2001 and be sure to click in the box for Automatically Update Document Styles.
