Thesis Formatting: Word 2001 for Mac OS 9 & Word X for Mac OS X

Our thesis formatting tutorial steps you through the process of formatting your thesis from our template file. Note: Rules/guidelines for thesis formats are developed by the Graduate School. OIT provides a template for creating your thesis and an example of what a final thesis should look like.

Template files. Download the template files to your hard drive and save them in the My Templates folder. See the tutorial for help finding this folder.*

* All these files are zipped. You will need Stuffit Expander to unzip them. Stuffit Expander is available online free of charge.

  1. Download Stuffit Expander from the Stuffit Web site. Follow the installation instructions.
  2. Once you have Stuffit Expander installed on your computer, double-click on each .bin file.
  3. Stuffit Expander will automatically create Word documents from each file.
