1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panels > Network & Dial-up Connections.
2. In the Network & Dial-up Connections window, right-click TrueMobile, then select Properties. The TrueMobile 1150 Properties window will open.
3. Under Components checked are used by this connection:, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties.
4. In the Internet Protocol TCP/IP Properties window, select Obtain an IP address automatically.
5. Click OK to close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties window. Click OK to close TrueMobile 1150 Properties window.

1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panels > Wireless Network.
2. In the Add/Edit Configuration Profile window, select Default, then select Access Point from the drop-down menu next to the profile name. Click Edit Profile.
3. In the Edit Configuration Window, select the Basic tab. In the Network Name field, enter UMASS (all capital letters).
4. Select the Encryption tab. Make sure that the Enable Data Security is not selected.
5. Click OK to close the Wireless Network control panel.

To connect to the UMass wireless network, you'll need to identify yourself as a member of the UMass community. To do so:

1. Turn on or re-start your computer.
2. Open an Internet browser (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer).
3. Attempt to access a Web page.
4. If your computer and wireless card are correctly configured, you will see the UMass wireless network log-in screen.
5. In the fields on the left-hand side of the screen, enter your NetID (OIT Account user name) and UMail password. If successful, you will be briefly directed to a confirmation screen and then to the Web page you tried to access.
