The VoIP Voicemail Web Interface lets you listen to your voicemail messages, forward and reply to messages and set up a wide range of message management rules.
Note: If you are logging into the Web Interface for the first time, you will be prompted to set your permanent VoIP voicemail passcode. You will need this permanent passcode the access your voicemail via the phone interface. See Set Up your VoIP Voicemail Passcode for more information.
Check Your VoIP Voicemail Using the Web Interface
- Log in to the VoIP Voicemail Web Interface: Open your Web browser and go to http://cte.oit.umass.edu and enter your NetID and VoIP voicemail password. The VoIP Home page will open and you will see your Web-based voicemail Inbox.
- In the VoIP Console, under the Inbox tab, you will see a list of messages waiting for your review. Click the link to a message (in the Subject column) to listen to it. The Message View screen will open.
- On the Message View screen:
- Click the Play button to start listening to your message. You can use the other buttons on the interface to pause, rewind, fast-forward or stop playback.
- Click Previous or Next (at bottom, right) to move between the voicemails on your list.
- Click Inbox (on the toolbar near the top or at bottom, right) to return to the voicemail Inbox.
- On the voicemail Inbox screen:
- To check if you have received new voicemail messages, click the Refresh Mailbox button.
- To delete a message, check the box next to its link and click the Delete button. Deleted messages will be moved to your Deleted Items folder (at left).
Other VoIP and Voicemail Options
The VoIP Console offers a set of tools so you can setup your Voicemail Inbox, your
VoIP contacts and other VoIP options. To access these tools, click the appropriate
link on the VoIP Console Toolbar (at top).
- Status: The status drop-down menu lets other users in the system know if you are available to answer calls, if you are away from your desk, or if you are offline, among other options. Your status is displayed as a menu on the middle of the VoIP Web Console screen. Select the appropriate status message from the menu to indicate your status.
- Rules: Using the Web interface, you can set up parameters for how the system will manage your incoming calls and your voicemail messages. For example, you can forward all your calls to a local phone number or another campus extension, send calls from specific callers to different phone numbers, create custom greetings, set up “do not disturb” options for specific callers or send your voicemal messages to an email address. - Address Book: Your VoIP Address Book lets you maintain a set of contacts and organize them into groups.
- Options: The VoIP Options menu lets you setup your voicemail inbox Telephone Interface options, such as how your messages are listed and sorted, what kinds of greetings are played by the system and even whether or not callers are allowed to leave messages for you.
