1. Open your Web browser and go to http://cte.oit.umass.edu. The VoIP Login screen will open.
2. On the VoIP Login screen, in the Username field, enter your NetID (OIT Account user name), then in the Password field, enter the temporary voicemail passcode you received via campus mail. Click Login to continue.
3. If this is the first time you log in to the VoIP Web Console, the Change Passcode screen will open automatically. On the Change Passcode screen:
   
   • In the Enter Current Passcode: field, enter the temporary passcode you received via campus mail.
   • In the Enter New Passcode: field, enter a 6-10 digit passcode (numbers only) you wish to set as your voicemail passcode.
   • In the Confirm New Passcode:field, re-enter your new 6-10 digit passcode , then click OK to save your changes.
     Note: This numerical passcode will allow you to access your voicemail using the VoIP softphone (X-Lite) directly. We recommend that you do not use easy to guess numbers like 12345 or similar.
     
   
   
4. Once you enter your new passcode, the VoIP Web Console will open. See our VoIP Voicemail Web Interface Users' Guide for more information on using this console.

Now that you have your passcode, you will be able to access your VoIP voicemail messages and other settings using the softphone software or a regular telephone. See our VoIP Voicemail Phone Interface Users' Guide for more information.

1. To change your VoIP Voicemail passcode, log in to the VoIP Web Console and on the toolbar (at top) go to Options > Change Passcode. The Change Passcode screen will open.
2. On the Change Passcode screen, follow the directions above to enter a new voicemail passcode.

You can also change your passcode using the VoIP Voicemail phone interface:

1. On your VoIP Softphone (X-Lite), dial 3-1000 to access the voicemail system.
2. When prompted by the system, enter your VoIP passcode. (See our VoIP Voicemail Phone Interface Users' Guide for more information on how the VoIP Phone Interface functions).
3. Once you have logged into the voicemail system, using your softphone, dial 5 to enter the Administrative Options menu, then dial 3 to enter the Set Your Passcode menu, then follow the system's prompts to change your VoIP passcode.
