About Electronic Mailing Lists

OIT currently supports two electronic mailing list services:

  • Mailman Lists: Mailman is a Web-based list management software. All lists set up after 02/09/2004 will be created and managed with this software. To request a new list, fill out an Electronic Mailing List Application.
  • Class Email Lists: These are email lists automatically generated in SPIRE based on current course rosters. Instructors use SPIRE to create class email lists and Mailman to manage them.

Request a List

To request a list, fill out an Electronic Mailing List Application. Before you apply, please be sure to read our Electronic Mailing List Usage Agreement. If approved, your mailing list will be available within 2 business days of your request.

Note: Instructors do not need to request a class email list. Learn how to create a class email list in SPIRE.
