Give the Public Access to your Files

The permissions that you give to the Public audience determine what kind of access anyone on the internet (with knowledge of your UDrive URL) has to some or all of your UDrive files. If you wish to share some of your UDrive content with the online community, here’s the best way to do it.

  1. Open your Web browser and Log in to UDrive.
  2. In UDrive, create a new folder and upload the files you wish to share to this folder or move them over if they are already present in your UDrive. See Create Folders for more information. You might want to give the folder a name that is indicative of its contents (e.g., "website", "images" or "public")
  3. In UDrive, open your newly created folder (click the folder name or icon) and click the Share icon to set up the permissions for this folder. See Permissions for more information.
  4. To give the open community access to the files in this particular folder, check the boxes under Read, Write, Delete or Administer. Remember that the kinds of permissions you give the public determine what they can do with your files. See the Permissions page for more information.
