The new UDrive is a Web-based file storage system that allows you to access your UMass files from anywhere you have access to the Internet. With the new UDrive, you can share files with yourself and your UMass and non-UMass friends and colleagues.

To log in to UDrive, go to http://udrive.oit.umass.edu.

You’ll need your NetID (OIT Account user name) and UMail password. If you have two OIT email addresses (a.k.a. a subsidiary account), please make sure you are using the correct NetID & password pair.

Each instructor, student, and staff member has 250 MB of space on the new UDrive.

To check your quota:

1. Log in to UDrive. Your account will open, displaying your home directory listing.
2. At the bottom-right of your home directory listing, on the right side of the screen, you’ll see the total size of all of the files in your account, your UDrive quota, and the amount of available space.

Note: In sub-folders, the Total size: reflects the size of the files within that folder.

The UDrive software does not scan for viruses.

To protect your computer, we strongly recommend that you download and update anti-virus software and update your operating system on a regular basis. For more information, see our security tips.

To restore deleted files, please fill out an online Help Request.

Note: Deleted files and folders are moved to your Trash. Emptying your Trash permanently deletes all files and folders. If you still have files/folders in your trash, you can easily restore them by copying back into your account.

You can upload static Web files (e.g., .html, .gif, .jpg, .css) to the UDrive and then give other UMass users permission to view your Web site. To access the Web site, they'll need their NetID and UMail password.

Server-side processing is not available for files such as .php, .cgi, .jsp.
