About the New UDrive
The new UDrive is an easy-to-use, Web-based file storage and sharing system. Access your files from on and off campus, using any computer with an Internet connection. UMass Amherst faculty, students, and staff have 250 MB of space in their UDrive folders.
To log in to your UDrive space, go to: http://udrive.oit.umass.edu
Use the new UDrive to store files, share files with UMass and non-UMass groups or individuals, and collaborate on projects or coursework.
STORE
- Access and edit the same file from anywhere you have an Internet connection. No need to create multiple versions by emailing a file to yourself or saving it to a disk, thumb drive, or CD-ROM.
- Store any type of file in your UDrive space, from word processing documents and spreadsheets, to Web sites and databases.
- Use WebDAV technology to move files between your computer and your UDrive space by copy/pasting or drag-and-dropping them.
SHARE
- Set up UDrive to share files with individuals or with groups, such as students in your courses or committee members.
- Share files with non-UMass people using “tickets”.
- You decide who can access your files and the level of access they have (e.g., read, write, delete, administer).
COLLABORATE
- UDrive includes tools such as “check in/check out”, “comments” and “versioning” to make it easier to work with others to create and edit files.
