The Moodle ?Question bank? allows you to create, preview, and organize questions in categories before using them in a Moodle Quiz? activity. Question categories can also be nested hierarchically.
Open the Moodle ?QuestionBank
Navigate to the main page of your course.
In the Settings? block, under ?Course administration?, click Question bank?. ?The Question bank? screen opens.
Click ?Select a category? and select a category from the drop-down menu. The screen will update to show you the list of questions within that category. By default your course has only one category, titled "Default for <your course name>".
?Add & Manage Question Bank Categories
?Navigate to the main page of your course.
In the Settings? block, under ?Course administration?, click ?Question bank?. The ?Question bank? screen opens. Also, in the ?Settings block, the ?Question bank? group expands to show links that allow you to manage Question bank? functions.
In the Settings? block, under the newly expanded Question bank ?group, click ?Categories?. The Edit categories? screen opens.
On the Edit categories? screen, within Add category?, define the new category that you want to add:
In the Name field, enter a name for the new category. (Required.)
Select a Parent category for the new category. (Optional -- by default the new category will be added as a sub-category of the course's default category.)
Enter a description for the new category in the Category info field. (Optional.)
?Click ?Add category? to add the newly specified category.
(Optional.) On the ?Edit categories ?screen, click the configuration icons next to each category listed to delete, edit, move, or indent the category.
Add Questions to a Category
Navigate to the main page of your course.
In the Settings? block, under ?Course administration?, click ?Question bank?. The ?Question bank? screen opens.
Click ?Select a category? and select a category from the drop-down menu. The screen will update to show you the list of questions within that category. Note: By default your course has only one category, titled "Default for <your course name>". If you are adding new questions and you have not created a new category, we recommend that you first create a new category before adding new questions.
To edit an existing question, find the question in the list of questions and click the Edit icon. The Questionproperties screen opens. Configure the question according to its type (see Quiz Question Types in Moodle).
To add a new question, click Create a new question ... The Choose a question type to add window appears.
Select the type of question you want to add, then click Next. The Question properties screen opens. Configure the question according to its type (see Quiz Question Types in Moodle).
