If you are having trouble logging on to SPIRE, our tips may help. Contact the OIT Help Desk (545-9400, option 1) if these suggestions do not resolve your problem.

Use the correct ID & password combination
You can log on to SPIRE with your NetID (OIT Account user name) and password or your old SPIRE logon information (if you have that information). Your passwords are not interchangeable.
Can't remember your ID?
Your NetID (OIT Account user name) is your primary user name for all OIT services; this is the same ID that you use to access UMail, UDrive, or the campus network. Your NetID is a case-sensitive ID based on your first and/or last name; it is not your Social Security Number, or your 8-digit ID from your UCard.
Your old SPIRE Logon is:
- Students: The 8-digit ID printed on your UCard (if the UCard was issued after June 2001.)
- Instructors: An alphanumeric ID (e.g., AJDOE or ABSMITH2) that was mailed to your work address shortly after you became an instructor.
- Staff: An alphanumeric ID (e.g., AJDOE or ABSMITH2) that you received after your SPIRE training.
If you forgot your NetID or your old SPIRE Logon, come to OIT Account Management (Room A113, LGRC, M-F, 8:30 a.m.- 4:45 p.m.). For security reasons, we cannot share IDs via email or over the phone. Don’t forget your UCard!

If you forgot your OIT Account password or your old SPIRE password, you can come to OIT Account Management (Room A113, LGRC, M-F, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.) with a picture ID. Sorry, but OIT cannot share passwords over the phone or via email. Otherwise, you can:
- Retrieve your password reminder for your OIT Account password.
- Reset your old SPIRE password. Use the Reset your SPIRE password link on the SPIRE Logon page (lower right corner, under Related Pages). SPIRE will send your new password to your UMail address.
