Undergraduate students can find advisor information on their Student Center and View My Advisors page in SPIRE.
- Shortly after you declare your major in an academic department, an advisor is assigned to you. Typically, the advisor is a faculty member in the same academic department.
- You can have multiple advisors, one for each major. All your advisors will appear in your SPIRE profile.
- If you drop a major, its corresponding advisor automatically disappears from your SPIRE profile.
Graduate students (except some School of Education graduate students) do not have their advisors/committee members listed in their SPIRE profile.
- In the left Menu, go to Academics > Advisors. The View My Advisors page will open.
- On the View My Advisors page:
- Review your advisor's name, your academic Career (Graduate/Undergraduate) and Program (e.g., Undergraduate (general)).
- Click your advisor's name. A Compose: message will open in your default email client (e.g., Outlook) with your advisor's email address in the To: field.
- If you do not have an advisor, a message, You have not been assigned to an Advisor or to any Advising Committees, will appear.
- If this information is incorrect, or if you would like to change advisors, contact your academic department. Advisor information cannot be changed on this page.
TIP: Use People Finder to find out your advisor's contact information.
