SPARK Access for TAs, Co-Instructors & Guests

Use these pages to learn how your TAs, co-instructors, or guests can get access to your SPARK course, or what you can do to update their SPARK access. Note: Only Primary Instructors (i.e., the instructors eligible to request the SPARK course) can request access changes to SPARK.

Once a SPARK course is created, instructors, co-instructors, and Teaching Assistants (TAs) receive access to SPARK via an automatic feed from SPIRE. This means that your TAs or co-instructors need to be associated with your class in SPIRE before they can access your SPARK course. SPIRE to SPARK: How Co-Instructors & TAs Get Access to SPARK

SPARK Access

How It Works

Access to SPARK is divided into access to the Build, Teach, and Student View tabs. Use these pages to find out how to obtain access to one or more of these tabs for your TAs, colleagues, or guests.

  • Build tab: Enables instructors to add and update course content (e.g., upload files, edit pages, create assignments and quizzes, etc.).
  • Teach tab: Allows instructors and TAs to interact with students (e.g., post announcements, set up and participate in discusions and other activities), and manage student information (e.g., enter grades, track attendance). Note: Primary Instructors manually activate the teaching tools that their TAs will have access to.
  • Student View tab: TAs and instructors use this tab to preview course content and test what students will see. Anyone with access to the Build or Teach tabs also sees the Student View tab.
