For each order, you are required to fill out and submit the Academic Select License Agreement (pdf, 132 KB). Note: This file is editable. Please fill in fields highlighted in yellow, save the file to your computer, then email it to our GovConnection Account Rep., Mark Wichelns.
Microsoft Select for Official Institutional Use (Departments, Faculty and Staff)
Departments, faculty or staff from all UMass Campuses who wish to purchase Microsoft software for official institutional use can also order through Microsoft Select. Please note that the link provided below is not for individual or personal purchases.
Microsoft divides its software into three "pools". OIT has contracted with Microsoft Select to receive discounted software in each of these pools:
- Applications: Popular software such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access.
- Systems: Microsoft-supported operating systems such as Windows Vista Business Edition.
- Servers: Server operating systems such a Microsoft Server.
Licenses & CDs
Licenses and CDs are sold separately.
- Order one or more licenses if your department already has a CD-ROM containing the software, but you need more license keys to use it legally on additional computers.
- Order a CD if you do not have the CD for a piece of software and already own, or are purchasing, a software license key.
How to Order
To purchase software for official institutional use, Faculty and staff should visit: http://www.govconnection.com/umass/.
When ordering for the first time, you must create a GovConnection account. While creating your account, you will be asked to provide a valid UMass email address and your Employee ID # as proof that you are a member of the UMass community.
If you are purchasing software for official University use with a Procard, you are allowed to install one copy on your personal computer, so you will not need to purchase separate copies.
