Mac OS is the operating system for Macintosh computers: it integrates the power and stability of UNIX with the accessibility and flexibility of its graphical interface.

• Memory: At least 256MB of physical RAM
• Disk Space: At least 3.0 GB of available space on your hard drive; 4GB of disk space if you install XCode 2 developer tools
• Additional Requirements: Built-in Firewire drive

Macintosh operating systems are available to faculty and staff via the Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) Contract for Software at http://www.mhec.net/. Students can purchase this software from the University Store.
