Enable the Web Link Tool
To add a Web Link to a course in SPARK (e.g., your course Home Page, a folder, or a learning module) you must work under the Build tab of your SPARK course. You must also have the Web Link tool enabled in your course. For more information about how to add and remove tools to and from your course, see our Add and Remove Course Tools instructions.
Create a Web Link

On your course Home Page, click the Add Content actionlink. The Add Content Link drop-down menu will open.

From the Add Content Link drop-down menu, click Web Link. The menu option will expand. Click Create Web Link. The Create Web Link screen will open.

On the Create Web Link screen, in the Title field, enter a label for your Web Link. If needed, in the Description field, enter a brief summary of the content or context for the link which will be visible to students. In the URL field, type in the exact URL address for the location where you want this link to lead, then click Save.
Note: It is important that you type in the entire URL as it appears in your browser’s address bar. To avoid typing errors, go to the page, copy the URL from your browser's address bar , then return to SPARK and paste it in the URL field.

You will return to your course Home Page and your link will now appear under Course Content.
Build a Collection of Links
As you add links to the Web Links tool, it will expand into a collection of all the links in your course. If you allow this tool to be visible to students, they will be able to see the complete list.
If you hide the Web Links tool, students will only be able to access sites through the links you provide on your Home Page or other content pages.
Add a Link to the Course Tools Menu
If you have a site that you expect your students to use regularly (such as eReserves or a shared UDrive directory), you can add the site's URL to the Course Menu as a Custom Link:

Under the Build tab, from the Designer Tools menu, click Manage Course. The Manage Course screen will open.

On the Manage Course screen, click Course Menu. The Course Menu screen will open.

On the Course Menu screen, next to Course Tools, click Add Custom Link. The Add Custom Link window will open.

In the Add Custom Link window:

In the Title field, enter a label for the Custom Link.

In the URL field, copy and paste the URL for the link. (Note that this can be a Web address, email link, etc.)

Next to the Icon field, click Browse to locate a suitable image to set as the link icon (optional).

When you finish entering the link information, click Save. You will return to the Course Menu screen and your new Custom Link will be listed under Course Tools.
