Critical Security Patch Now Available for Windows Computers

On Tuesday, November 18, 2014, Microsoft announced a patch for a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Kerberos KDC. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to elevate an unprivileged user account to an administrator account. They would then be able to install programs, view, change or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.

The patch is now available from Microsoft.

UPDATE: Most Login Issues Affecting Wireless Network Resolved - Mon., 11/3 - Wed., 11/5

UPDATE: The majority of wireless login and connectivity problems reported earlier this week have been resolved. UMass IT has implemented a change addressing the infrastructure limitations at the root of these problems. We are aware of a subset of complex connectivity issues that we are currently investigating. Running the XpressConnect setup wizard may solve some of these issues.

Mail Delivery Delays to Non-UMass Email Addresses

October 29, 2014

On October 29, 2014, email messages sent to many major email services (e.g.,Yahoo!, Gmail, Comcast) from UMass Amherst email accounts may be temporarily delayed for up 48 hours. During this interval, members of the University community may receive notifications of undelivered mail.
