About the UMASS SSID
- The UMASS SSID is the unencrypted, less secure, way to connect to the campus wireless network.
- OIT strongly recommends that students, faculty, and staff use our encrypted SSID, UMASS-SECURE1X. OIT will slowly be restricting use of the UMASS SSID.
- To connect, you must choose UMASS from your list of available networks, open a Web browser, then log in with your NetID and password.
- Wireless guests must use the UMASS SSID to connect wirelessly on campus.
