Switch to the UMass Wireless Network from Dial-up or Ethernet
- Start (or re-start) your computer in an area where the UMass wireless networking is available.
- Go to Apple Menu > Control Panels > TCP/IP.
- From the File menu, select Configurations.
- Double-click Wireless from the list to make it active.
- Close the TCP/IP control panel and save if prompted to do so.
- Log-in to the UMass wireless network.
- If you haven't changed the Orinoco Gold card settings since configuring them, you should now have a working wireless connection to the Internet. If you have adjusted those settings, then perform the steps described in the Mac 9.x configuration instructions to configure your card to attach to the UMass wireless network. When done using the wireless connection, you can shut down your computer and remove the Orinoco Gold card.
