Wireless in North Residential Area
'North' is one of the first residential areas with wireless coverage at UMass
Amherst. Starting in Fall 2009, residents can connect using the new
UMASS-SECURE1X SSID or the old UMASS SSID.
Note: The UMASS-NRES-PILOT SSID is no longer available in North.
Do not install your own wireless access point! These 'interfering' access points pose a serious security risk and slow down the campus network. All wireless access points not managed by OIT will be disabled.
