Find Your MAC Address

Your Wired MAC Address

Your Wired MAC Address is the 12-character ID that indentifies your wired network card. (a.k.a. Ethernet ID). Depending on the manufacturer, this address may have a different name and location. Refer to the product manual for more information.

Windows 2000, XP, Vista

  1. Go to Start > Run.... The Run window will open.
  2. In the Run window, next to Open:, enter cmd, then click OK. The Administrator:C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe window will open.
  3. In the Administrator:C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe window, at the prompt, type ipconfig/all, then press Enter. Under the Ethernet information, find your Wired MAC Address in the Physical Address field.

Your Wireless MAC Address

Your Wireless MAC Address is the 12-character hardware ID for your wireless network card (a.k.a. Physical Address or AirPort ID). Depending on the manufacturer, this address may have a different name and location. Refer to the product manual for more information.

Windows 2000, XP

  1. Go to Start > Run.... The Run window will open.
  2. In the Run window, next to Open:, enter cmd, then press Enter. The C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe window will open.
  3. In the C:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe window, at the prompt, type ipconfig/all. Press Enter. Under the Wireless information, find your Wireless MAC Address in the Physical Address field.

Windows Vista

  1. Go to Start > Run.... The Run window will open.
  2. In the Run window, next to Open:, enter cmd, then click OK. The Administrator:C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe window will open.
  3. In the Administrator:C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe window, at the prompt, type ipconfig/all, then press Enter. Find your Wireless MAC Address in the Physical Address field.
