Network Registration (NetReg) System
Netreg requires persons wishing to use network services and/or the Internet from a NetReg enabled jack (see below for locations) to register their computer(s) with OIT. The registration process ensures that the UMass Amherst network is secure, and that users not abiding by the Terms of Use are held accountable for their activities on the network. The system also allows OIT to permanently turn on jacks in public locations (e.g., classrooms), making it easier for registered persons to gain access to the network.
