1. From the Apple Menu (upper left corner of the Mac desktop), select Control Panel.
2. Open the TCP/IP Control Panel.
3. Set the TCP/IP settings.
   • In the Connect via menu, select Ethernet.
   • In the Configure menu, select Using DHCP Server.

1. Test your connection by opening an Internet browser (e.g., Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer). Note: If you are using a jack that is part of the Network Registration system (NetReg), you will need to register your computer before you can access the campus network.
2. After you launch your browser, enter a URL. If you are using a NetReg jack, you will automatically be redirected to the NetReg Web site. The NetReg site can be found at: <http://netreg.oit.umass.edu/>. More information about NetReg
