The OIT Computer Classrooms are teaching spaces for faculty using computer technology in their coursework. When not being used for teaching, students, faculty and staff have access to the Computer Classroom facilities. Classroom consultant oversees the daily functions of the OIT computer classrooms. Provides technical assistance to faculty, students and staff using our classrooms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and support to OIT Computer Classrooms’ users during the hours of operation.
- Monitor daily operations of computer classrooms.
- Answer user questions regarding software applications.
- Resolve software and hardware problems.
- Report technical problems to the Staffroom.
- Post general information regarding scheduled classes.
- Promptly close classroom before the arrival of a scheduled class.
- Set up and trouble shoot problems with video projectors.
- Maintain the supply of paper and toner.
- Perform cleaning tasks in the classrooms.
- Enforce OIT Computer Classrooms policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate student status.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Professional attitude and demeanor.
- Basic computing skills across Windows and Macintosh platforms.
- Ability to work minimum of 8 hours per week.
- Ability to work one 2.5 hour shift during weekday (Monday – Friday) from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Starting hourly wage is $8.40.
