I learned so much and did so many different things...
The University of Massachusetts Amherst has a lot to offer its students educationally, so there are plenty of resources and contacts for different programs nationally and internationally. Living in Amherst is like no other place in America. This is definitely a walking town and is accessible to everything that you need to survive. Although the big mall and clubs are in other cities, I’m sure that when the fall and spring semesters are in session there are plenty of activities to chose from. But in the summer at UMASS there is not a lot of activities to do on campus, but sooner or later you’ll find yourself engaging in activities that are exciting and worth your time. Such as: bike riding, walking to town, shopping in Amherst and Northampton, planning trips to other nearby cities (Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.), planning group dinners and dorm events with your R.A. and hanging out with new friends. This summer was unforgettable in many ways. I’ve learned so much and have done so many different things. I’m truly grateful for the internship and the experience it’s brought me. I’m sure that in the years to come the OIT Internship Program will grow into an amazing program for students across the nation, just like it’s been for me.
